There’s one important detail from the Game of Thrones trailer that everyone missed

Paul Moore

Jon Snow is going to have an eventful season.

Even after we devoured, dissected and discussed the latest stunning trailer for Game of Thrones, there are still a few little tidbits that escaped our gaze.

Hell, Bran can see into the past but even he might have struggled to take in all the stunning details from the latest footage.

After repeated viewing, we know that winter is here and Jon Snow is in the thick of it beyond The Wall.

Granted, this is territory that the King in the North knows very well from his time at Castle Black – who can forget that stunning episode at Hardhome? – but it appears that the former Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch is set to break new ground this season.

What could this be?

Resurrection? Na, he’s done that. Killing a white walker? He’s broken that ice before. Emerge victorious from an epic battle? Well, another battle is a possibility but Jon has already whipped Ramsay Bolton’s ass.

No, the answer is that for the first time in Game of Thrones history, Kit Harington has actually filmed a scene that’s outside of The North. He must be delighted not to have that blue or grey Northern filter!

In six seasons, we’ve never seen Jon Snow travel south of Winterfell—aside from that scene at the Tower of Joy when we see his birth – but in the latest trailer, it’s obvious where Jon and Davos are travelling to.

Massive spoiler alert klaxon.

Take a look at the background of these two images. Look familiar?

Yep, that’s right, we already knew that there would be a meeting between Jon and Daenerys at Dragonstone, but this image practically confirms it.

With this in mind, it’s highly likely that Jon’s speech during the trailer is intended for Daenerys’ ears.

“For centuries, our families fought together against their common enemy. Despite their differences, together, we need to do the same if we’re to survive because the enemy is real. It has always been real.”

While Season 6 was undoubtedly Jon Snow’s most action-packed one yet, it’s clear that we’re going to see the King in the North do a fair bit of travelling in Season 7. Not only do we see him battling the undead  beyond The Wall, but he’s also going to travel down south.

Mmm, maybe Dany has to see a white walker with her own two eyes before she realises the imminent danger that the Seven Kingdoms is facing.

Was this the reason why Jon led his wildling army beyond The Wall?

We know nothing.
