The Mountain shows off incredible 50kg body transformation ahead of next fight

The Mountain is still a beast, just a different kind

Hafþór 'Thor' Björnsson, or 'The Moutain' as Thrones fans will know him, used to be known for being the World's Strongest Man; now, the Icelandic bodybuilder-turned-fighter looks to be shrinking significantly in size whilst still remaining shredded.

After his fight with former strongman rival Eddie Hall was postponed after the Englishman tore his bicep (watch at your own peril), Björnsson is now set to fight Devon Larratt on September 18th and is getting seriously lean for the occasion.

We're not talking Brad Pitt Fight Club, tore up from the floor up, but pretty bloody close considering the size of the guy beforehand. Here is how 'Thor'—nope, The Mountain—is looking now.

The 32-year-old from Reykjavík has lost an incredible 50kg since starting up his new regime - which still includes a total of five big meals, mind - going from around 10,000 calories a day to just 4,000. Just?...

In case you needed a reminder of what The Mountain looked when he was crushing skulls in GoT, it went a little something like this. Gulp:

Hall went through a similar transformation and we sincerely hope we get to see that bout between the World's Strongest Man 2017 and '18 at some point, but for now we'll have to make do with The Mountain taking on the world's number one ranked arm wrestler and former Canadian Special Forces. We all have to make sacrifices.

We've actually already got a glimpse of the two in an arm-wrestle (it wasn't close but it wasn't a cakewalk either) but the fight is what we really want. Neither Björnsson, Larratt or Hall are natural fighters but we expect they'll be able to do a fair bit of damage with all that strength and their sheer weight alone.

Speaking of fighters, our very own Alex Roberts recently gave Anthony Joshua's workout routine a go. He's still alive and well, as far as we know, so that's something. Take a look down below and make sure to check out all of our health and fitness content.
