The first proper trailer for Deadpool 2 is as nuts as you hoped it would be

Finally, a full trailer!

The hype machine for Deadpool 2 has gone into overdrive now. We’ve had various teasers for the sequel, but they’ve been nearly all comprised of specially shot footage not from the actual movie – Deadpool playing with action figures, or playing with action figures, or the short scene that played before Logan.

But now we have our proper first glimpse at the movie itself – and it does not disappoint. We have a good look at Josh Brolin’s Cable and Zazie Beets’ Domino, both of which were in the previously released teasers. And we also see the return of Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Vanessa.

Most excitingly though, there’s a host of new characters. There’s Julian Dennison, from the hilarious Hunt for the Wilderpeople, who appears to be playing a kid that the time-travelling Cable is looking for – in the comics, Cable often looked after a young child names Hope Summers, and it looks like the film could be taking influence from those stories.

Deadpool also announces he’s forming the X-Force. In print, the X-Force was an X-Men spin-off which founding members included Cable and Domino. Deadpool first appeared as a villain in the early days of the tile, but wouldn’t join X-Force until almost two decades later. We then get a rapid montage of new characters, all too quick to really tell anything about, but they’re played by the likes of Shioli Kutsuna, Terry Crews, and Rob Delaney.

Deadpool 2 is out May 15.
