"No more Michael... I'm sorry."

Prison Break star Wentworth Miller has said he is officially done with the show. In an Instagram post, he announced that he won't be playing Michael Scofield on the show anymore, as he doesn't want to play straight characters. Miller, who came out in 2013, spoke out about homophobic comments posted on his Instagram, alongside a blank white square in lieu of a photo. "I take seriously the possibility of queer kids visiting here, recently out of the closet or exploring the idea... I don't want them exposed to bullshit." He then confirmed he wouldn't be playing Michael again. "On a related note... I'm out. Of PB. Officially," Wentworth Miller wrote. "Not [because] of static on social media (although that has centered the issue). I just don't want to play straight characters. Their stories have been told (and told)." "So. No more Michael. If you were a fan of the show, hoping for additional seasons... I understand this is disappointing. I'm sorry. If you're hot and bothered [because] you fell in love with a fictional straight man played by a real gay one... That's your work."
Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, who plays his on-screen brother Lincoln Burrows, are the only actors who's characters have appeared in every episode of Prison Break. In September, Dominic Purcell said that the show would be returning for a sixth season.
