Snapchat are now selling cinema tickets in their latest new venture

This could make going to the pictures as easy as a few swipes of your finger.

Not content with their domination of the selfie market, Snapchat are now entering the movie business…or the cinema business at least. They want to become the box office in your pocket by selling you tickets for the big screen via their app.

For the first time ever, the social media company is allowing users to purchase cinema tickets for X-Men: Apocalypse in the US, where the mutant movie opens on Friday. If this trial venture is successful, they are expected to roll out the service for other flicks – and other regions.

The way it works is that our American cousins can see a video ad in the Discover tab of their Snapchat app. A swipe upwards from there allows them to reserve their seats for the latest X-Men adventure. It’s as easy as sending someone a cheeky nude – but with less chance of cruel rejection.
