The warrant has been issued due to the belief that "conversations between the affiant and Alec Baldwin being conducted through "iMessages" may exist on the phone.
Baldwin has since said in his first public interview that he did not pull the trigger of the gun.
"Well the trigger wasn't pulled, I did not pull the trigger," he told interviewee George Stephanopoulos of ABC.
"No, no, no, no, no, I would never point a gun at anyone and pull a trigger at them, never," he continued.
"Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn't even supposed to be on the property."
The film's director, Joel Souza, was also hurt during the incident but didn't suffer life-threatening injuries.
Cases of deaths on film sets are unfortunately more common than you might think. Perhaps most famously, Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee died when a real bullet was fired on the set of The Crow in 1993.
What's more, an Associated Press investigation from 2016 revealed that at least 43 had people died on TV and film sets in America alone since 1990.
