RiRi recreates horror history.

Given the fact that Bates Motel is in its fifth season and has been nominated for Emmy Awards, Critics' Choice Awards and Satellite Awards, it's fair to say that the psychological horror-drama series is a firm favourite with viewers. This being said, the show is approaching its finale and the producers have decided to meet its end with a bang, stab and scream. Fans of the "contemporary prequel" to the 1960 film Psycho were eagerly anticipating the most recent episode because it recreated one of the most iconic scenes in horror history. If you've seen Hitchcock's original then you'll know what we're talking about. Marion Crane (Janet Leigh) being stabbed to death in the shower. Endlessly parodied, rarely bettered. If you want to remain spoiler free then consider this to be your warning. Read on if you want to know what happened to Marion Crane (guest star Rihanna) in the most recent episode. Take a bow RiRi because you managed to escape the knife of that rude boy Norman Bates. Some horror fans felt a slight disturbia with this refusal to adhere to the traditional narrative, but as fans of Bates Motel will know, things happen very differently in the show’s White Pine Bay, Oregon than they do in the movie’s Fairvale, California. What unfolds in the most recent episode is that Norman (Freddie Highmore) does spy on Marion (Rihanna) while she's showering, but before he can try anything sinister, Marion steps out to search for her cheating boyfriend, Sam (Austin Nichols) before fleeing the motel. As you can see in the side-by-side comparison below, Norman does get to embrace his inner psycho. The role reversal is all that fans of the show were talking about last night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QG0-r8AqYI Clip via - Before The Credits She might be a self-professed bad girl, but at least Rihanna is not a dead one.
