A great number of comedy fans were eagerly anticipating Ricky Gervais' latest creation Special Correspondents on Netflix this past week. The feature length production was released exclusively on the streaming service on April 29, and there was no shortage of publicity trailing the show.

Gervais is widely acknowledged on both sides of the Atlantic as a talented writer and performer. The Office, that he wrote with the help of Stephen Merchant, is seen as modern classic, and he has done other things that some people have liked too. But his latest venture has fallen flat, judging from this lot at least.
A host of stars including Eric Bana, America Ferrera, Kelly Macdonald, Kevin Pollk and Benjamin Bratt star alongside Gervais in the journalism caper, but their combined talents have failed to impress some very critical fans. Here are just a few of the disillusioned reviews...
