Richard Hammond was badly hurt in motorbike crash during filming of The Grand Tour

Richard Hammond was reportedly knocked unconscious after falling from his motorbike during filming for The Grand Tour in a remote part of Mozambique. According to The Sun, Hammond was knocked unconscious after hitting his head following a fall from a motorbike during filming for the second season of the Amazon Prime Show. Hammond’s co-star Jeremy Clarkson said that Hammond “really did hurt himself quite badly” in the crash, but when asked if he needed to go to hospital, Clarkson replied: “We don’t do hospitals.” Hammond is believed to have made a full recovery since the accident, which happened in a remote part of Mozambique with limited access to medical facilities. Despite the seriousness of the incident, footage of the crash is expected to feature in the second season of The Grand Tour, due for release later this year. “Richard was travelling quite fast when he came off. It caused instant horror on set,” a show source told The Sun. “There was a lot of concern. “If his injuries had been serious it wouldn’t have been easy to get medical attention. “It’s very remote there and facilities are basic.” The accident comes 11 years after Hammond nearly lost his life while filming an episode of Top Gear back in September 2006. Hammond crashed a jet car that was travelling at 288 mph at the time of the crash. He spent two weeks in a coma and didn’t appear on TV for a year while recovering from the accident, later revealing that he suffered depression, paranoia and memory loss as a result of brain damage incurred.
