The original Harry Potter cast might be returning for The Cursed Child trilogy

There have reportedly been talks.

With a bit of Felix Felicis, this might happen.

Accio hope. Given that the Harry Potter films have earned more money at the box-office than the entire contents of Gringotts bank, it was always likely that J.K Rowling’s latest book about the boy wizard, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, was going to be turned into a film.

For those who don’t know, the story revolves around a 37-year-old Harry, who is dealing with his children going to Hogwarts.

Unsurprisingly, its stint as play the West End proved to be a massive hit and fans have been calling out for a movie adaptation.

This being said, Daniel Radcliffe has previously ruled himself himself out of reprising his most famous role.

Speaking with Laura Holland of Her.ie, he said: “I’m never saying no and closing the door on anything totally, but I feel like it would take a small miracle, I don’t know I just can’t think of at the moment the circumstances that would have to exist for me to go back. It would be weird.”

There’s some hope though because according to Digital Spy, journalist Jim Hill was speaking on the podcast Unofficial Universal Orlando Podcast, and he shared some insider knowledge, saying:

“I have heard that Warner Bros has actually had conversations with Emma, with Rupert, and, of course, Daniel about Cursed Child, because they want this to be, for lack of a better term, Harry Potter: The Force Awakens.

“They want this trilogy of movies to have the actors that we know and love from the original films, that we watched grow up, as adults.”

He also added that the project is being penciled in for 2026, so the nine year interval would give the cast enough time to be the right age for their roles.

In the meantime, there’s still the Fantastic Beasts films to get excited about. However, if these rumours are true, expect a party that would be even wilder than the Yule Ball.
