Radiohead’s OK Computer turns 18 this week, so we’ve ranked its best songs

Conor Heneghan

There are only a select number of albums regularly cited as contenders for the best of all time.

And Radiohead’s OK Computer is certainly one of them.

When the record was released in 1997, Thom Yorke and company were relative rookies in an extremely populated British music scene.

Blur and Oasis were still riding the Britpop wave, and guitar bands such as Ocean Colour Scene, Manic Street Preachers and Pulp were also enjoying huge popularity.

Radiohead’s second album, The Bends, enjoyed plenty of success and marked them out as different to their contemporaries, but it was OK Computer that really established their sound.

As good as The Bends was, the Oxford four-piece cut loose with their third album and weren’t afraid to push the boundaries. Here we pick the five best tracks…

5. Let Down

4. Exit Music

3. Airbag

2. Karma Police

1. Paranoid Android
