The new season of Peaky Blinders is drawing closer and director Anthony Byrne has teased us all with his latest post on Instagram.
Filming on the new season wrapped a few months ago and the final touches are currently being made on the new season of Steven Knight's wonderful drama.
As you can see below, the final edit is "getting closer to the end" as Byrne works on the final sound mix.
The new season sees Tommy Shelby takes his first steps into the world of politics. In a previous interview, writer/creator Steven Knight said that Season 5 is 'honestly the best one yet' and Helen McCrory (Aunt Polly) echoed this sentiment when she recently appeared on The One Show.
In terms of the plot, we're told that the new season will be set in the aftermath of the Wall Street Crash where "opportunity and misfortune are everywhere. When Tommy Shelby MP (Cillian Murphy) is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family's future but that of the entire nation."
Knight has also spoken about how the new season will deal with the rise of racism in Europe and with two more seasons in the planning, it appears that Peaky Blinders is here to stay.
With regards to a premiere date for Season 5, the BBC haven't confirmed an official date yet but Harry Kirton (Finn) has previously said that: "Peaky is probably coming out at the other end of this year. So, September/October time. I'm very excited and you should be too. Finn has to grow up (in the new) season."
We can't wait.
