The age of the characters is a major part of what makes the show great. But now we've discovered something that's pretty mind blowing: Nicola Coughlan, who plays Clare in
Derry Girls, is 31.

According to her IMDB, Nicola was born on January 9, 1987, in Galway. She was previously studied at the renowned Oxford School of Drama and this is her first major role.
