The former boss of Ofsted said he was 'absolutely appalled' by the reality show

Ofsted's former chief schools inspector has said that reality show Love Island "is a sad reflection of our education system." Sir Michael Wilshaw said ITV 2's most-watched series left him "absolutely appalled." "I saw five minutes of it the other day and was absolutely appalled,"  he said at the Festival of Education at Wellington in Berkshire. "It is a sad reflection of today's education system," he told host Piers Morgan, who had asked him whether Love Island poses a threat to the education system. Wilshaw finds himself in esteemed company, not least with Piers Morgan who said the show's contestants were the "most stupid people in the world," but also other angry white bloke Giles Coren. Coren called it "stupid, intellectually apocalyptic and morally bankrupt."
