Morrissey is “seriously considering” running for London Mayor

With Boris Johnson coming to the end of his second mayoral term, London is preparing to elect his replacement.

Of course - Morrissey! The former Smiths frontman has been asked to run for the Animal Welfare Party in May's election, according to the True to You website. And the 56-year-old is reportedly "very seriously" considering pursuing the 330 signatures required to stand. A noted animal rights advocate, Morrissey said in a statement: "Social justice for animals is not much to demand, because we are only asking humans to think rationally and with heart.
