The Modern Family star is creating a family of his own

Modern Family actor Eric Stonestreet has hit back at social media trolls who said he was too old for his fiance, Lindsay Schweitzer.

Stonestreet is 49, while Schweitzer is “almost 42”. The actor has since responded, trolling those that trolled him.

Stonestreet shared the images of their engagement once again, but this time made Schweitzer look considerably older than she actually is.

Along with the photo, Stonestreet wrote: “Apparently a lot of people think I look too old, as a 49-year-old man, to be engaged to my almost 42-year-old fiancée. Look, she can’t help that she looks so great at 42 and I can’t help that I apparently look like her grandad so, I fixed it for everyone.”

Stonestreet portrayed Cameron Tucker on Modern Family for over a decade.

Despite being gay on the show, Stonestreet is actually heterosexual in the real world, with his co-star Tyler Ferguson labelling him as gay for pay.

“Am I the only one who thought he was actually gay? Damn,” wrote one person on Twitter.

The actor announced the engagement last Sunday, saying that her answer to his proposal was: “She said, ‘She’d have her people call my people’.”

Among the famous faces to wish the happy couple good fortune was Michael Buble, Alyssa Milano, Kate Hudson, and the actor’s co-stars. Also among the happy fans was Gweneth Paltrow, who will undoubtedly send them a Vagina candle as a wedding gift.

“Congratulations! My children and I are binging Modern Family and they love you. All the happiness to you. AND if you want to talk football ever, you have an open invitation to the @FantasyPros Podcast. Say when,” replied Joe Pisapia, host of the Fantasy Pros podcast.
