Jay Z has finally spoken about THAT fight in the lift with Solange

"We have always had a great relationship"

Cast your mind back to 2014. It was the year Kim and Kanye tied the knot, the year of the Ice Bucket Challenge and the year of one of the juiciest celeb stories ever. In May 2014, footage of Beyoncé's sister Solange brawling with her brother-in-law Jay Z in a lift after the Met Gala was leaked and we haven't been quite the same since, TBH. The family has been fairly quiet about the incident in the years since, but Jay has finally addressed the fight in an interview. Speaking about Solange on the Rap Radar podcast, he pretty much just downplayed the whole thing.

"We have always had a great relationship. I fought my brothers and argued with my brothers my whole life. It just so happens, who we are, these things go into a different space, but it ain’t nothing.

"We had one disagreement ever. Before and after we've been cool.

"She's like my sister. I will protect her. That's my sister, not my sister-in-law. My sister. Period."
