Since the beginning of the year, James Corden has been on a diet – and he claims he wants to get ripped like The Rock.

Since leaving the WWE to embark on a Hollywood career, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has become one of the most popular actors in the world.

In 2013, he was named by Forbes as the highest-grossing actor in the world, and has been named the highest paid actor in the world for the past two years.

However, The Rock is a fitness fanatic, first and foremost. His Instagram page is awash with motivational snippets, fitness tips and workout footage filmed from inside the Iron Paradise – The Rock’s hugely-impressive portable home gym.

It appears his work has rubbed off on The Late Late Show host, ex-Gavin and Stacey star James Corden.

Corden, 42, recently told Oprah Winfrey during an online WW (formerly Weight Watchers) event that he wants to embark on a diet, and takes inspiration from The Rock in his pursuit of fitness.

“I want to change the way that I live,” Corden said.

“I want to be better for my children and for my family. I don’t want to wake up tired, or feel embarrassed when I’m chasing my son on the soccer field and out of breath after three minutes.”

Corden said he lost a stone in the first five weeks of 2021, and now plans to continue his progress.

“The weight is not the issue, it’s the wellness of it I am ready to tackle. I’m going to take this year and work towards getting healthy.

“If 2020 taught us anything it was that taking care of yourself has to be a priority.”

Corden jokingly told Winfrey of his ambition to emulate The Most Electrifying `Man in Sport Entertainment.

“In a year’s time we are all going to be so ripped,” he said.

“It will be crazy. I will be like The Rock.”
