Here's Tom Hardy's deleted scene in Star Wars and lots of other brand new leaked footage
There's also a very cool scene with Rey that's teased in the trailer.
While the world gets set for the releases of Solo: A Star Wars Story - and about 1,37 other features in the Star Wars universe that are currently in production but hey, we're not complaining because it's frickin' Star Wars! - the world is still discussing the fallout from The Last Jedi.
While critics absolutely loved Rian Johnson's take on the franchise, some fans were slightly disappointed. We've discussed some of the main talking points here and those big question marks about the Knights of Ren, Snoke's backstory and Phasma's sudden departure have already been answered.
This being said, Rian Johnson was always upfront that the theatrical cut was just that and with the DVD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and 4K UHD set to be released on March 27, various deleted scenes have already been leaked.
A few months ago, we brought you the details regarding Tom Hardy's deleted scene where he played a Stormtrooper and that description appears to be accurate.
Slash Film reported that Hardy's deleted scene took place when Finn, D.J, and Rose managed to sneak their way onto the First Order ship in an effort to shut down the ship's tracker.
At the time, here's how they described the scene: "On the First Order ship, there was an extra shot of Finn arranging their First Order uniform disguises on an elevator before they walk out with BB-8 in the trash can. Finn tries to flatten Rose’s hair, but it keeps curling up. A First Order officer follows them and they quickly head to another elevator. They frantically push the button to close the door, which takes forever and they nearly got caught."
It adds: " Tom Hardy originally had a cameo as a First Order stormtrooper in this sequence. A group of stormtroopers gets in the elevator and our heroes are nervous they are going to get caught. One of the stormtroopers slowly turns to Finn and gives him a look. Finn turns around in his Imperial officer uniform and asks him what his problem is. The stormtrooper, played by Hardy with a southern accent, says “I know who you are…. FN 2187! Damn boy, I never took you for officer material!” The tension is cut by the reveal that the two grew up together, but the troopers are somehow unaware of FN’s treason."
Given the fact that we're used to seeing Stormtroopers as monolithic, rigid and devoid of personality, only Tom Hardy could break protocol by smacking John Boyega on the arse!
To paraphrase the immortal words of Princess Leia: "Aren't you a little too much fun for a stormtrooper?"
Here's Hardy's scene is in its entirety.
Aside from this, we also got plenty of other goodies as a scene from the trailer makes its way into the deleted scenes. Remember that moment in the trailer when Rey is frantically running towards something while grabbing hold of her lightsaber?
Well, feast your eyes on this scene of her training.
We also get a scene where Rose bites General Hux...
...a nice moment between Poe and Finn...
...and BB-8 doing his best to keep Finn and Rey closer together. Awwwww!
