Actress Helen Mirren was asked about Tom Hardy, her co-star in the streaming series MobLand, as she revealed if she'd work with him in the future.

Hardy, 48, seems to have departed from the show after reported friction with producers.

As she posted a picture of Hardy on social media with the caption “love you now and always”, Mirren said that she would “absolutely” work with Hardy again “in a fucking heartbeat”.

“As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however someone gets there”, she said.

“Tom is a very special person. I think he’s absolutely remarkable. My support of him is genuine and heartfelt”, she added.

Mirren's harassment in London as she walked with her husband

The Oscar-winning actress has also commented on being called an “evil Zionist bitch” while being harassed in the street in London.

Mirren, 80, said she was “attacked by mistake by a man who was maybe a little over passionate or maybe mentally not quite stable”.

Last month a footage of an incident circulated, and it is believed to have taken place last year.

As Mirren was walking with her husband, filmmaker Taylor Hackford, they were approached and filmed by an unidentified person.

They commented on Mirren’s support of Israel and then launched a volley of abuse at her, as seen in the clip.

Metropolitan police said in a statement in May that “we are aware of a video circulating online, showing a man and a woman being subjected to antisemitic verbal abuse in Tower Hill. It is believed that the incident took place at the end of last year.”

Meanwhile, no further action was taken after police discussion with Mirren and Hackford.

Mirren and her support for Israel

Mirren, as she spoke to journalists at the Taormina film festival, reiterated her support for the existence of the state of Israel.

She also said: “How could you possibly repeat the actions of what was done to you as people to other people? Crimes against humanity, it’s called”, in reference to Israel’s assault on Gaza.

“I grew up in Europe post second world war and the realisation in my parents’ generation of what had happened in the Holocaust was so profound, so important. Therefore, the creation of Israel was a very important moment, although maybe it was done in completely the wrong way, in the wrong place, I don’t know. But something had to happen after the horror”, added Mirren, who is actually not Jewish.

“I saw it from the inside and I saw some things that disturbed me from the inside in Israel at that time. I’m talking about six months after the six-day war”.
