Game of Thrones filming sites suggests the locations of two major battles in Season 8

Season 8 can't come soon enough

The production of Season 8 of Game of Thrones has been ramping up over the past few weeks.

And many diehard fans have been paying visits to sets and locations in order to piece together a picture of what we can expect from the beloved show’s final season.

Well, it seems as though that amateur sleuthing has paid off, and Game of Thrones fan-site Watchers On The Wall has put together a very comprehensive theory for two major events that might happen over the course of the Game of Throne’s last chapter.

This article is going to be heavy with potential spoilers, so if you want your mind kept clean for the arrival of the final season, look away now:

The GOT crew has been preparing a new set full of medieval-style buildings lately — and just last week they began rigorously fire-testing it, suggesting that we’re going to see a lot more dragonfire over the course of the last season. What’s most interesting, however, is that many suspect that this set is supposed to be the streets of King’s Landing.

Within the show, much has been made over whether Dany will reclaim the Iron Throne for the Targaryens brutally, by burning the capital of the Seven Kingdom’s to the ground. Many have tried to dissuade her from this approach, such as her Hand Tyrion Lannister, but others such as Olenna Tyrrell prompted her to be the dragon she was born to be. It now seems like we can expect the dragon to be let loose in the show’s final instalment.

As for the second major battle, updates come from the show’s famous Winterfell set, where plenty of new structures are being built.

Fans in the area have seen changes to the Winterfell set, including what appears to be a trench or moat around the castle’s walls, as well as a trebuchet. These devices suggest that Winterfell is set to undergo a siege, which isn’t too surprising given that it seems as though the Night King has finally breached The Wall.

As the army of the dead march south, the first of the Seven Kingdom’s they’ll cross will be Winterfell. It now seems as though Sansa, Bran and Arya will be tasked with holding the White Walkers at bay.

Doesn’t it get you buzzed just thinking about it? Season 8 can’t come soon enough.
