Game of Thrones fans are pumped for two scenes that were teased a long time ago

Paul Moore

They weren’t seen in the trailer for the season finale.

If you haven’t seen the most recent Game of Thrones episode, Beyond the Wall, we urge you to do so because you know what’s coming next.

At 81 minutes, The Dragon and the Wolf will be the longest ever Game of Thrones episode and we’ve already done a deep-dive into that superb trailer here.

As brilliant as that footage is, Thrones fans have been curious about two things that were conspicuous by their absence in that trailer and they’re both linked to previous footage that we’ve already been teased with.

Given the fact that Daenerys Targeryn’s bid for the Iron Throne has dominated the proceedings in Season 7, her absence from the list of players at the Dragonpit was noticeable.

The Mother of Dragons didn’t feature in the trailer, or in any of the recent official images that were released by HBO. Plenty of fans have have been wondering why.

As Tyrion said recently, a smart ruler doesn’t put themselves in danger on the battlefield and during these negotiations, it’s very likely that Cersei will have a few tricks up her sleeve.

Dany’s absence might also be linked to two previous scenes that we saw in Season 4 and in Season 6. Do you remember when Bran had a vision of a dragon flying over King’s Landing?

Well, it might finally happen.

Is this how Daenerys will make her dramatic arrival in the capital?

On that point, hardcore Game of Thrones fans might think her appearance with Drogon in King’s Landing is linked to those haunting scenes of her vision at the House of the Undying.

Remember that image of the roof in the King’s Landing throne room that was scorched and destroyed?

Granted, there are so many permutations and ways to interpret these visions, but there’s no denying that they’re an  interesting facet to the upcoming episode.

Given the fact that she has pledged to support Jon’s campaign against the Night King’s army beyond the Wall, we don’t see Daenerys burning King’s Landing to the ground and escalating a war on two fronts.

Then again, it wouldn’t be Game of Thrones without a surprise or two. This being said, plenty of people have warned Dany not to use her dragons to burn cities and kill innocent people.

One other scene that has fans talking is linked to this very cool image that we all saw from the season trailer.

While it’s hard to make out, we’re almost certain that this is The Hound at the Dragonpit as he’s getting ready for combat.

You can be certain that Cersei won’t be meeting with her sworn enemies without a bit of muscle by her side. Bearing that in mind, it’s entirely reasonable to assume that The Mountain will be alongside her during these negotiations.

If that’s true, we’re going to have the Clegane brothers in the same location for the first time since Season 1.

Will Cleganebowl finally happen?

The Hound and The Mountain haven’t  shared a scene since Game of Thrones’ first season, but the long-running theory suggests that both men will eventually fight to the death.

Throughout this season, we’ve been treated to glimpses of The Hound being frightened by fire – the childhood trauma that his brother inflicted on him and left Sandor brutally disfigured – but will The Hound get his revenge and has it already been foreshadowed?

Here’s what happened the last time they met.

We’re pumped.
