Did you know about the one about the deleted airport scene?
We loved unearthing this 4-minute storyline from one of the most iconic sitcoms in US television history – but we can also understand why it was hurriedly scrapped.
The scenes involve Chandler and Monica as a newly-married couple at airport security. Chandler spots a sign stating that ‘Federal law prohibits any joking regarding aircraft hijacking or bombing’, but true to form he can’t help himself.
It leads to the pair being escorted away by over-zealous security staff and questioned. As the episode – The One Where Rachel Tells Ross – was due to air just a matter of days after the tragic events of 9/11, the storyline was understandably canned.
But now we can enjoy the deleted scenes in their full glory, and we’re glad we can because they’re just as hilarious as we’d hoped…
