Football Manager announces widespread changes for FM16

Great news...

Tom Victor

Fans of the Football Manager series of games have plenty to look forward to in the upcoming issue of the game.

FM16 will allow users to choose their touchline persona, take part in fantasy drafts, and even create their own teams.

But for many the most significant change will be the ability to continue FM Touch games across multiple devices, so when your laptop’s unavailable you can carry on playing the same saved game on your mobile or tablet.

The separate PC and mobile/tablet versions will continue as normal, but this could be big news for multi-platform gamers.

The create-a-club functionality allows players to replace existing teams with their own creations, replacing the kit and even the team name – hopefully it won’t be too sore a point for Wimbledon fans after the whole Milton Keynes rebrand.

The fantasy draft element, in which you can go head-to-head with friends in the quest to sign new players, looks set to add a lot to the multiplayer functionality of the game.

And the touchline character allows football fans to create their own likeness, choosing skin-tones, hair colour and length and even different colour suits and ties, and watch themselves dictate play from the dugout.

These and plenty more features have been outlined in depth on the Football Manager Twitter account – still no mention of Wikipedia pages or replica shirts, though.
