Fifa 16 made some absolutely bizarre choices with their St Patrick’s Day special

EA Sports must be having us on with some of these selections.

As a special offer for St Patrick’s Day, Fifa 16  has some special ‘green items’ available for Ultimate Teams. Gamers, you’ll know what this means. Norms, you probably won’t.

To mark March 17, the game is trying to include some big-name Irish players in a special one off promotion.

While they’ve certainly managed to do that, they’ve also botched things up slightly.

Leaving aside the fact that they made the cardinal sin of not including Jonathan Walters (we’re sure there’s a valid reason for his omission), the decision to include both Jack Grealish and Stephen Ireland seems odd.

Grealish famously decided to opt to play for England last year after representing Ireland at every level bar the senior squad.

Ireland’s international career ended prematurely in 2007, after admitting to fabricating a story about his grandmother dying in order to leave the Ireland squad before a crucial tie against Czech Republic.
