Eight-part documentary about Madeleine McCann’s disappearance coming to Netflix

McCann went missing as a three-year-old in 2007

Conor Heneghan

Netflix is about to tackle one of the most famous missing person cases in history.

The disappearance of Madeleine McCann will be the subject of an eight-part true crime documentary series to be broadcast on Netflix in the near future.

According to the Independent, investigators and key figures from the case will be interviewed for the eight-part series, which will delve into the details surrounding the disappearance of McCann at the age of three in 2007.

The case made international headlines in May of that year when Madeleine McCann went missing while on holidays with her parents and two siblings in Praia de Luz in Portugal.

Madeleine’s disappearance is still the subject of international coverage to this day, but although there have been reported sightings and potential suspects identified over the years, she has never been found.

Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, have never given up hope of finding their daughter and just this week, it emerged that a Scotland Yard search for her whereabouts is to be extended; funding for the case had been due to run out in three weeks’ time.

No release date has yet been announced for the documentary series on Netflix.
