Cinemas that allow texting during films are now a real possibility

Would you want to go to the cinema with the blue light from everyone's phones distracting you from the film, because it's allowed?
Well, in some cinemas it looks like this nightmarish situation may happen. Adam Aron is the CEO of the biggest cinema chain in the world, AMC, and he told Variety that he is willing to try and attract younger audiences by making some screening rooms texting-friendly. Aron explained:"When you tell a 22-year-old, 'Turn off the phone, don’t ruin the movie', they hear, 'Please cut off your left arm above the elbow'. You can’t tell a 22-year-old to turn off their cellphone. That’s not how they live their life. At the same time, though, we’re going to have to figure out a way to do it that doesn’t disturb today’s audiences. There’s a reason there are ads up there saying turn off your phone, because today’s moviegoer doesn’t want somebody sitting next to them texting or having their phone on."He then went on to say that cinemas may have a "texting section", or certain screens will be designated as entirely texting-friendly. At least then, you could go to a non-texting friendly cinema, safe in the knowledge that nobody would be scrolling during a pivotal film scene. In theory.
