WWE superstar Paige has confirmed that she’ll never wrestle again after suffering yet another neck injury in December.

Paige, whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis, is believed to have suffered the recurrence of a long-standing neck injury when she was kicked at a show in New York on December 28 and experienced a stinger.

During a tag-team match at Nassau Coliseum, Paige struggled to get back to her feet after being kicked in the back by Sasha Banks.

In January, Paige was told that she would not be able to take part in the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble before it was ultimately advised that she should hang up her wrestling boots for good.

She took to the ring on Monday Night Raw this week to deliver the bad news that she has been forced to retire from the business which she described as “her heart, her soul and her blood’.”

“As much as it hurts me to say this, now I’m going to have to go and find something else,” Paige said.

“I would like to thank WWE for letting me do this and entertain every single one of you for the past four years.

“This New Orleans, four years ago, is where I debuted and won the Divas Championship.

“And four years later New Orleans is where I want to retire.

“So I want to say thank you to every single one of you.”

Paige made her wrestling debut at the age of 13 and played a pivotal role in making the WWE’s female division what it is today.

In spite of a couple of suspensions over the past two years, it’s understood that Paige remains well-liked by WWE management and that she may be offered a role in the company away from competition.

After the entire crowd chanted “thank you, Paige,” her fellow superstars paid tribute to the retiring star’s contribution to company.
