Blockbuster drops massive hint it could be returning

Form an orderly queue

Blockbuster, one of the most iconic high street brands from the noughties, has dropped some major hints that it may be making a comeback.

The high street chain, which was a must for all movie fans back in the day, closed its doors for the final time in 2013 after the company declared bankruptcy in 2010 however fans of the popular movie store could see it reopen once more.

However one branch still continues to serve film enthusiasts in the tiny US city of Bend, Oregon and has become somewhat of a tourist attraction.

But after posting a cryptic message to their website which read: “Be kind while we rewind” in a nod to the brand’s famous slogan.

Owners Dish Network have made no official comment on if they will be returning or if they will be offering the option to rent physical DVD’s or to move with the times and offer a streaming platform similar to Netflix or Amazon Prime.

Others meanwhile believe that the tease may not be in reference to a return but in fact a marketing campaign for an upcoming Netflix series about Blockbuster.

One person wrote: “Whaaaaat is happening?! ls this the return of @blockbuster?! Oh how we’ve missed you!”

Another meanwhile was frustrated with the lack of information from the cryptic message.

“Something is going on with the @blockbuster website… Do we get a little piece of our high school lives back? Is it just a tease? What’s the plan? Does anyone know?,” they wrote.

Not everyone seemed too pleased with the potential return of the store however.

“Is Blockbuster coming back? I hope so, but it could just be some kind of streaming service. I would rather see the return of brick-and-mortar stores!” they said.
