Busted announce comeback tour

The pop rockers are back!

Busted have announced they are reuniting for a 15-show tour and a new album after teasing fans with a cryptic message on social media.

Matt Willis, 39, Charlie Simpson, 37, and James Bourne, 39, have sent fans into delirium by confirming they are getting the band back together for their 20th anniversary.

Starting in September this year, the band – who dominated British music in the mid-noughties with tunes sucjh as Year 3000, Air Hostess, and What I Go to School For – will be embarking on a reunion tour around the UK.

Busted will also release a 15-track album featuring reworkings of their classics. The first track lifted from it will be a brand-new version of Loser Kid (Loser Kid 2.0) with Simple Plan on April 14.

The album will also feature All Time Low and McFly.

It’s not long before fans will be able to get their hands on tickets either, as these will go on sale on March 31.

Fans got excited about a possible reunion earlier this week, when Busted tweeted a cryptic video showing a VHS cassette tape being inserted into a retro TV unit.

“It’s out of this world that we get to do this and we couldn’t be more excited about it. It’s going to be wicked,” James said.

Matt added to The Sun : “Now it feels like it’s meant to feel. It’s like the very beginning all over again. Right now it feels like it’s barely even begun.”

Busted released their debut single and self-titled debut album in 2002. The album featured songs such as What I Go to School For, Year 3000 and Sleeping With The Light On, and reached number 2 in the charts.

After this, the band went on to achieve four number ones, and three top 10 albums.

They left fans broken hearted when they announced they were splitting up in 2005.

In recent years teamed up with McFly to form the supergroup, McBusted.

Fans reacted with delighted to the news of a tour later this year, and the opportunity to bask in the warm memories and nostalgia of the noughties.

One person wrote: “Omg am so so so there yes!”

Another said: “My inner 13 year old me is squealing. My outter 33 year old shell is crying and wondering if my back will hold out from the jumping.”

A third wrote: “I am so glad you guys are back touring, I absolutely can’t wait to see you!”
