Anti-LGBT politician resigns after being caught having sex with another man in his office

Rory Cashin

It is one of the biggest clichés in the book.

Say hello to Republican State Representative Wes Goodman from Ohio.

Goodman was staunchly anti-LGBT, having once told The Independent that ‘natural [i.e., heterosexual] marriage is the only valid martial option’.

Earlier this week, Goodman resigned from his position in the government, after allegedly being found in his office having sex with another man.

Goodman released a statement (via The Washington Post) which said: “We all bring our own struggles and our own trials into public life. That has been true for me, and I sincerely regret that my actions and choices have kept me from serving my constituents and our state in a way that reflects the best ideals of public service. For those whom I have let down, I’m sorry.”

His boss, the Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger, told The New York Times: “I met with him later in the day where he acknowledged and confirmed the allegations. It became clear that his resignation was the most important course of action for him, his family, the constituents of the 87th House District and this institution.”

Karma.
