The man's defence claimed he was hungry so stole the money to eat before college

A man was marched to the police - not by officers - but by his own mother who had recognised him in CCTV footage of a train robbery. A train conductor on a Metra Electric Line in Chicago was robbed mid-afternoon on February 15, leading to police circulating photos of the armed assailant. CCTV footage had caught 18-year-old Zion Brown allegedly pulling a gun on the driver before taking his cash and fleeing on foot. However upon seeing the CCTV, Brown's mother immediately took her son to the police station, where he was then arrested. According to CWB Chicago, Brown took $110 from the conductor and later ditched the gun before going to attend Chicago's Loyola University for the day. It was later heard in court that Brown's weapon was, in fact, a BB gun. However Judge Ahmad was reportedly having none of it, citing that she too had been hungry at college and never committed a crime.
