18-year-old Zion Brown allegedly pulled a gun on the driver before taking his cash/Via Police Handout[/caption]
In the footage, a person alleged to be Brown is wearing all-black with a large portion of his face covered. However upon seeing the CCTV, Brown's mother immediately took her son to the police station, where he was then arrested.
According to CWB Chicago, Brown took $110 from the conductor and later ditched the gun before going to attend Chicago's Loyola University for the day. It was later heard in court that Brown's weapon was, in fact, a BB gun.

Brown's defence attorney attempted to persuade Judge Maryam Ahmad that Brown had needed to eat before college, hence why he had robbed the man. However Judge Ahmad was reportedly having none of it, citing that she too had been hungry at college and never committed a crime.

Judge Ahmad then granted the state's request to not allow Brown bail and he will appear in court on March 4.
