In total 1,114 consultants from the firm are working on Track and Trace
More than 1,000 consultants from Deloitte are being paid up to £2,300 per day to work on the government's Track and Trace scheme.
Documents released by the Department of Health and Social Care underline the reliance of the government on the private sector in the fight against coronavirus, with Deloitte consultants representing the vast majority of those from the private sector working on the scheme.
The "world beating" system, which has been dogged by failures and controversies from its very inception, has so far been budgeted at £12 billion, has enlisted the help of consultants to aid its implementation on the creation and management side.
This, according to Sky News, includes online portals and physical test centres.
The scale of Deloitte's involvement and the cost of its consultants will likely only serve to further dissatisfy those already underwhelmed with the government's handling of the virus, cases of which have skyrocketed in Autumn.
According to estimates, based on the presumption that the consultants have been working on the scheme since April, their bills could have already run as high as £200m.
