Bouverie equated Cameron’s premiership to that of Neville Chamberlain
Historian Tim Bouverie has spoken to JOE after the recent release of David Cameron’s memoirs, entitled For the Record.
Bouverie, an historian and journalist whose debut book, Appeasing Hitler: Chamberlain, Churchill and the Road to War, was a Sunday Times bestseller, spoke of Cameron’s legacy and stated that he will be remembered alongside the likes of Neville Chamberlain.
Chamberlain was prime minister during the rise of the Nazis and is best known for his policy of appeasement towards Nazi Germany, signing the Munich Agreement in 1938 which conceded the Sudetenland region of then Czechoslovakia to Germany.
Speaking to JOE, Bouverie said that he would “absolutely” put Cameron in the same field as Chamberlain.
“You would put Cameron in the same field as Neville Chamberlain, who was responsible for appeasing Hitler?”
“Absolutely.”
