WWE’s Stephanie McMahon mercilessly mocks CM Punk’s UFC debut loss in front of his fans

Brutal.

CM Punk might not be a fixture in professional wrestling these days, but his fans remain as vocal as ever – even after his unsuccessful foray into mixed martial arts.

The American welterweight lost to Mickey Gall via a first round submission on his UFC debut, lasting just two minutes and 14 seconds.

He has become a bit of a laughing stock in MMA circles after that UFC 203 setback, though he has high hopes of returning to the Octagon in 2017 in an attempt to rebuild his reputation.

However in WWE – where he held the title of world champion for 434 days – it is a different story.

Punk’s fans remain very vocal, as they demonstrated during Boxing Day’s Monday Night Raw, chanting his name as the WWE came to his home city of Chicago, even though he wasn’t involved in the action.

But this time, Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon was ready and waiting, and delivered a well-rehearsed quip about the events of UFC 203.

As cheers of ‘CM Punk’ rang out across the arena, McMahon hit back.

“So if you guys could keep that up for about two minutes and 15 seconds, you’d last one second longer than Punk did,” she replied.

You could almost hear the grin beginning to form across McMahon’s face.
