We’ve absolutely no idea what Tyrone Mings was getting at with this mysterious tweet. Honest.

Hmm... cryptic

Simon Lloyd

Hmm, what could Tyrone Mings *possibly* be getting at here?

The Bournemouth defender, currently serving a five game suspension for stamping on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s head the other week, sent out a concise three-character tweet from his Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon.

‘Lol’ it read, indicating that something had amused him.

Although we’d never dream of suggesting that Mings’ tweet was a response to the FA’s decision not to hand out a ban to Marcos Rojo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Manchester United teammate, for stamping on Eden Hazard on Monday evening, plenty of other people appear to think that this is exactly what the short tweet was designed to show.

Many football fans criticised the FA for double standards over their decision not to take action against Rojo, who played a full 90 minutes of the 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge.

The news on Rojo comes on the same afternoon that the FA charged United for failing to control their players in the aftermath of Ander Herrera’s sending off.
