Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat will be happy to have walked away from this unscathed.
The Russian spun off the Suzuka track at pace during qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix, slamming into a barrier, but the damage could have been far worse.
Qualifying was brought to an early end after the incident, with Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg on pole position.
Kvyat will start the race from the pit lane, providing he is deemed fit to return for the race proper after undergoing precautionary medical checks, as substantial work needs to be done on his car due to the damage sustained in the crash.
