The Rio Olympics will have three times more condoms than the London games in 2012[/caption]
The increase is due to the addition of female condoms this year - 100,000 in total - along with 350,000 condoms for men.
There are approximately 10,500 athletes and staff. That's roughly 42 condoms per person.
It doesn't stop there, either. There will also be 175,000 packets of lubricant distributed at the summer's games.
The condoms will be available from vending machines and through a clinic in the athlete's village, which opens on July 24 before the tournament begins properly on August 5.
Although there's been no confirmation by Rio organisers, the huge surge might relate to Brazil's Zika virus outbreak. The disease is carried by mosquitoes but can be sexually transmitted.Explore more on these topics:
