couldn't recognise the legendary Reds captain, it seems now US fans have taken him to heart.
Gerrard finds himself among some real legends of the game in MLS - playing the likes of Italian maestro Andrea Pirlo, Spain striker David Villa and Brazil icon Kaka.
But even these glamorous footballing names couldn't out-do the boy-done-good from Merseyside in the popularity stakes.
Gerrard sold more shirts than any of these towering figures - coming second in the Top 10 selling MLS jerseys list only behind US legend Clint Dempsey.
Not bad going, Stevie lad. His team-mate Robbie Keane didn't even make the cut, despite continuing to bang in the goals for LA Galaxy.
To make matters worse he got done by Bradley Wright-Phillips.
