Steve Gerrard is considering a return to management after he was offered a job in Saudi Arabia, according to reports.
The Liverpool legend hasn't had a job as a manager since he was sacked by Aston Villa in October last year, following a 3-0 defeat at Fulham which left the West Midlands side outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.
In recent weeks, he has been linked with jobs at managerless Leeds and Leicester, who were both relegated to the Championship this season, and at Turkish side Trabzonspor,
But it may well be that his future lies outside of English football, with L'Équipe reporting that he has been approached by Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq about becoming their new manager.
A source close to Gerrard said the former Liverpool midfielder is not against the idea of managing in Saudi Arabia and is taking time to consider it.
During his spell at Villa, Gerrard won just 13 of his 40 matches at the club.
This was after he had guided Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title in 2020-21, their first in 10 years.
The 43-year-old could be the latest big name to ply their trade in Saudi Arabia.
In the last few days, Karim Benzema has left Real Madrid to join Al-Ittihad, and it seems like he will soon be joined their by Premier League and World Cup winning midfielder N'Golo Kante.
This is of course after Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January, and the Saudi Public Investment Fund's takeover of Newcastle last season.
Al-Ettifaq finishes seventh out of 16 teams in the Saudi Pro League this season.
