Alli had a disastrous loan spell at the Turkish giants

Dele Alli has been criticised by Besiktas once again following the end of his disastrous loan spell.

Alli spent the year on loan in the Turkish Super Lig after being deemed surplus to requirements at Everton but failed to impress at all, making just 15 appearances and scoring three goals.

Injuries also hindered the 27-year-old, who was forced to end his season early in order to return to England to have surgery.

Besiktas fans and officials haven’t held back in their assessment of the former Tottenham midfielder and the club’s owner, Ahmet Nur Cebi is the latest to call out Alli.

“He was a player we were very excited about when he came. He won’t come back. We didn’t get what we expected from him,” he told BeIN Sports.

Despite admitting they were underwhelmed by his performances, Nur Cebi hoped that Alli would be able to rediscover his old form. He continued: “I hope he recovers as a human.”

The midfielder still has one year left on his contact at Everton and with Sean Dyche now in the dugout at Goodison Park, the England international could be given a lifeline by the ex-Burnley boss to revive his Toffees career.

Speaking about whether or not Alli would return to the first team fold, he said: “Some of the stuff that’s been said and reported… he’s 27 and like other players knows certain things and what they should or shouldn’t be doing.

“Forget about Everton for a minute, as a manager you can’t control everything they do in their lives.

“I just got a sense that he wants to be back playing football and playing well. There isn’t anything other than getting him fit. I’ve heard all the noise, I’ve heard all the opinions and I’m pretty sure that you’re aware that I like to make my own.”
