Spurs name their price for Kane, and Man United should still pay it

Kane's future is up in the air once again

Kane has been linked with a move away from the north London side after yet another disappointing campaign in which they will win no silverware and also face a battle to finish inside the top four.

This summer will see the forward enter the final year of his contract and Spurs are keen to command a high fee in order to waive off any interest from potential suitors, report The Times.

Spurs also don't want to sell to a domestic rival but are aware of Manchester United's interest, with the forward placed on a shortlist of targets in the summer.

United would reportedly be willing to pay the £100m however they would prefer to do it in instalments - a common method used by clubs to preserve their budget - however Tottenham do not want to.

Man United should pay what Tottenham want

Transfer prices are inflating everywhere across the world but anybody offered Harry Kane for £100m should be paying it.

United have had an impressive season in comparison to what was expected to them at the start of the campaign but look likely to fall short of any title challenge because of one issue: the lack of out-and-out striker.

Marcus Rashford has been in incredible form but has been the only real source of goals for Erik ten Hag's side. Adding Kane to the ranks would really propel them to the next level.

Unlike at Spurs, this United team will create chances for Kane. There's no doubting he would be playing with a better squad all-round too. In theory, it's simple. Kane makes Tottenham better, but United can make Kane better.

Trophies have also been hard to come to by for Kane throughout his career. Ten Hag and United have proven that they can do with a Carabao Cup while they also remain in the hunt for an FA Cup and Europa League to add to the collection.

Anyone who thought that Spurs weren't going to ask for a large fee were kidding themselves. Kane is one of their best-ever players but no matter what they tell United to pay, the Red Devils should be willing to hand over the cash in exchange for a world class, and potentially title-winning, forward.
