Shakhtar CEO confirms why Liverpool won't be signing Alex Teixeira this month
This one looks dead in the water.
Alex Teixeira has done his best to self-actualise a move to Liverpool, mainly through blatantly stating he wants to go to Anfield, but it looks like it won't be happening any time soon.
Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin is reported to have told a website in Brazil that the deal is almost certainly dead as Liverpool have no intention of stumping up the necessary funds for the player.
Shakhtar CEO: "Liverpool offered €32m and €4m bonus. It was their last figure. Our position is, we don't want to sell Alex Teixeira now."

Shakhtar CEO: "We will sell Alex Teixeira only at the end of the season. We need good results in Europa League and Ukrainian Championship."

Shakhtar CEO: "Alex Teixeira has a €70m clause in his contract. If someone can pull this off, then come and take him."

Shakhtar CEO: "Klopp wants to see Alex Teixeira, in a personal conversation with Liverpool, it was also mentioned."

It seems fairly clear why Palkin would make comments like this as speculation grows about the striker's future.
But the true cost of not getting out the chequebook will only be clear to Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.
