Samir Nasri reveals the truth about Pep Guardiola’s sex curfew policy

"He can say what he wants, I know what he told us. I was there."

Back in November Pep Guardiola dismissed claims from Samir Nasri that he had imposed a sex curfew on his Manchester City players.

The former Arsenal midfielder, who is currently on loan at Sevilla, told how Guardiola had implored Nasri to improve his physical condition, and he also opened up on the ex-Barca boss’s rules on nookie.

“For him, his players sexual activity must take place before midnight in order to get a good night sleep – even if they are free tomorrow,” Nasri said.

“He [Guardiola] said that he placed this rule on Messi and his muscles improved since.”

The City boss laughed off the suggestion and said: “It’s impossible to play good football if you don’t have sex with your partner.

“I never did that and I would never ban that. If you are doing it, [then] better players!”

But Nasri now claims his comments were taken out of context.

He told Onze Mondial: “The comment was modified. He said: ‘I have never banned players from having sexual relations.’ Yes, that is true. But he told us to do it before midnight.

“He can say what he wants, I know what he told us. I was there.”

So now you now. A bit of hows-your-father is fine, as long as you’ve got everything done by midnight.
