Real Madrid are determined to land Erling Haaland next summer as they look to find a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema.
Haaland has been casted as the perfect option to replace Madrid's current talisman and there is growing belief from Florentino Perez and the Los Blancos hierarchy that they can secure his services.
According to reports in French media, via Fichajes, Haaland's agent, Rafael Pimenta, revealed that Madrid would be willing to activate the Norwegian's release clause in the summer of 2024.
The Athletic reported back in October that Haaland's Manchester City contract contains a release clause of €200m, which can be activated from 2024.
By that point, the Norwegian will be two years into his five-year deal at the Etihad Stadium. The value of the release clause will also decrease with each year that passes on his contract.
In addition to the transfer fee, they will also be expected to pay bonuses and agents fees, which are expected to be on the same sort of scale that City paid this summer.
One crucial element of the clause is that it can only be activated by clubs outside of the Premier League which is likely to put the LaLiga rivals of Barcelona and Real Madrid on red alert.
The forward has been in incredible form for Pep Guardiola's side, scoring 47 goals in 40 games across all competitions and is well on course to break the record for the amount of Premier League goals scored in a single season.
