When it comes to nations outside of Europe, and their impact on global football, the mind usually jumps to the likes of Brazil and Argentina from South America, Nigeria, Morocco and Egypt in Africa, or Japan and South Korea over in the Asian continent.

The likes of Costa Rica however, can sometimes be forgotten, so this week, as the Three Lions face the Central American side, we'd like to pay tribute to the eight Costa Ricans who have graced the top division of English football.

Even aside from domestic football, who could forget the Costa Rica side that graced the 2014 World Cup, emerging from a group that included England, Uruguay, and Italy, before later reaching the quarter-finals, and only going out to the Netherlands after a penalty shootout.
