Paris Saint-Germain are considering making a formal complaint to FIFA in regards to Real Madrid's pursuit of Kylian Mbappé.
Madrid have been long-time admirers of Mbappé and almost signed him last summer only for the Frenchman to commit to a new deal.
PSG believe that the World Cup winner already has an agreement in place with Los Blancos to join them on a free transfer next summer, which would see Mbappé pocket a €160m (£138m) signing-on fee.
As per The Telegraph, that would be illegal under FIFA's rules which say clubs cannot approach a player without the permission of the side he plays for.
A number of other sides are also keen to sign Mbappé ever since he made his desire to leave PSG public. On Monday, Chelsea were linked with offering a player-plus-cash deal for the forward while Barcelona and Liverpool have also reportedly held talks.
Al Hilal of the Saudi Pro League also made a world-record bid of £259m, which the French champions accepted, only for the 24-year-old to turn down any opportunity to talk to them.
It's still likely that Madrid could make a cash offer for Mbappé before the end of the transfer window however they know that any offer they make could put them under intense financial scrutiny given that PSG are likely to want a sizeable fee.
Carlo Ancelotti's side are going into the new season with just one recognised striker having lost Karim Benzema, with ex-Stoke City man Joselu their only current senior forward.
