Mbappé to Stamford Bridge?

Chelsea fans think that Ben Chilwell or Enzo Fernandez may have hinted that Kylian Mbappé could be moving to Stamford Bridge this summer during their Premier League Summer Series win.

The Blues are reportedly pondering a move to hijack Liverpool’s talks with the Frenchman and are willing to offer a cash-plus-player deal to convince Parson Saint-Germain to negotiate with them instead.

Mbappé has been left out of the club’s pre-season tour after reiterating his desire to leave the club and refuse to sign a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in 12 months time.

PSG did accept a record-breaking transfer offer of £259m from Al Hilal but the World Cup winner had no desire to join the Saudi Pro League side.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have become the latest side to register their interest and fans of the two-time European champions are already getting excited after claiming that they overheard Mbappé’s name mentioned as Reece James walked by.

While the clip doesn’t reveal which one of Chilwell or Fernandez made the comment, fans speculated over the two.

“Ben Chilwell saying ‘And Mbappe ain’t here’ after Reece James lifts the trophy,” wrote one person.

A second tweeted: “I heard that loud and clear.”

A third tweeted: “Can’t wait for Boehly to offer Mbappé a ten year contract.”

“Proper weird thing to think of saying in the moment tbh… unless he knows something we don’t,” said a fourth.

Despite the hype, Pochettino refused to confirm his side were interested in Mbappé, saying last week: “I need to be conscious.

“I cannot talk because everything that you talk is too much noise, it is a very delicate situation and it is a situation they need to fix in Paris with Kylian, Kylian with PSG.

“But from our side, nothing to say. We are working in our reality, their reality is different – and they for sure have another reality.

“And from my side, nothing to say – only to support them and hope they find the best solution for both sides.”
