However it has proved more of a burden for Newcastle signing Chancel Mbemba, whose several dates of birth are threatening to overshadow his imminent move to the North-East. According to CNN, the Congolese international has been listed as being born in 1988, 1991 and 1994 at various points in his career. To complicate things even further, Mbemba himself believes he was born in 1990. The various discrepancies saw him sent back to Africa by current club Anderlecht, before ultimately being offered a contract when he turned '18' in 2012. It really takes the cake. Update: Mbemba has now officially completed his move to Newcastle, meaning he could make his competitive debut on August 9, the day after he turns 27. Or 25. Or 24.
