The Arsenal fan stumped up after their defeat to Manchester United at the weekend

Piers Morgan has said he will donate £1,000 to charity after losing a bet to Gary Neville.

The pair chatted online before the Gunners’ trip to Old Trafford when Neville tweeted: “You’ll get done at Old Trafford Sunday! Forget the title.”

Buoyed by Arsenal’s recent run of form, which has seen them top the table after six games having maintained a perfect record in the first five.

TalkTV host Piers replied: “Fancy a £1000 bet to charity on that, T-Bag?”

To which Neville replied: “Yep!”

The eight-time Premier League winner had a front-row commentary seat to watch his old side win 3-1.

And man of his word Piers tweeted: “Name your charity, T-Bag, payment will be made in the morning.”

United took the lead through £85million signing Antony just before half time but Bukayo Saka later levelled the match.

It was his England team-mate Marcus Rashford who turned the game around with a match-winning double.

Talking after the game, Rashford said: “It is always a big game against Arsenal, especially as they have had such a good start to the season.

“It was a big test for us today. We showed up and stood up to the challenge. We can be proud if ourselves. It is good to get into a rhythm.

“It is tough. They are a good team and know their principles of play and are very good at it.

“A good possession-based team and offer lots of difficulties with players dropping into pockets and with attacking threats.

“It is what we expected. I thought it was an even game. There were big spaces in the first half we couldn’t exploit.

“We managed to do that in the second half. We have some excellent passers of the ball and as long as we make runs we are going to get the ball.

“We have to keep going for 90 minutes. There are a couple of times today we got through the press. It is important for us to keep going.”
